Introduction
Statement of purpose
The purpose of the proposal is to ask for permission to franchise Kudzu Bakery in Charleston SC. With our willingness to work as a group who plans on opening the bakery is strong, and our work ethic which has brought us our good grades into starting up a new business.

Scope
With the opening of a franchise we hope to create a community centered bakery, and because this is the creation of a partnership the business end will not be discussed more than start up cost, and expected break even.

Approach
The location will be determined closer to the opening date, as the location will have to be determined by what is open, the presumed location will be near the East Bay rd, King st. or Market St.. The initial start up cost will be the cost of ingredients for four weeks, display windows, rent for four months, seats and tables for restaurant, stocking of the wine and beer coolers, industrial mixers and ovens, finally payroll for a month. The reason the ingredients and payroll will only be needed for a month for the initial startup cost is the hope that these can be reclaimed quickly and because things will change seasonally, also most of the work will be done by partners in the franchise. The bakery is also looking to be a large part of the community, by capitalizing on the college near by with having certain days for college students, and any baked goods which do not sell before going bad will be frozen and once a week be taken to one of the several local shelters. Also to capitalize on the “green” movement we will offer several new lines, an all organic, gluten free, and a “power” line. The organic and gluten free will offer several of the favorites but baked in a way that will allow for more people to enjoy. The power line will be for the athletes who come in with people, giving boast of energy by loading with fibers, proteins, and anti-oxidants. All lines will follow with the other baked goods which recipes come for the original Kudzu and follow with the seasonal changes. Also on the “green” note the bakery will give a discount to those who bike in, from the commuters to the racers who come for a post ride snack.

Requirements
The requirements have already be listed the specific cost will be discussed when creating a detailed analysis closer to opening date.

Dear Mr. Trettain,

In response to your letter last Thursday regarding the problem with your tandem watercraft vehicle, our service department has identified the problem. The problem was caused by water in the fuel line. This could have been caused by bad gasoline. This is unfortunately not an issue that is covered by our one-year manufactures warranty.

If you wish for us to perform the corrective maintenance of flushing your fuel lines, it will cost thirty-dollars.

Thank you,

Alcohol advertisment

firefly.com

The first thing you notice when looking at the advertisement is not what is being advertised, the firefly vodka, but instead the woman on the picture. It seems that the new way of advertising, which is the same as the old way is draw the attention. It can be seen that the woman is in a white dress with the rest of the photo is blurry except for the woman and the swing. The white dress seems to bring a point about the idea of innocence and purity that many people in the south do not think of when thinking about vodka. Then the catch phrase, "what does long island know about sweet tea?" to those who drink it easily refers to the long island sweet tea which is a mixture of alcoholic beverages, yet the firefly is sweet tea flavored vodka. The advertisement seems to make the vodka something that is safe and brings and idea that is contradictory to the southern belief. While this belief is widely held by the southern baptist it is the belief by mainstream culture to clump the whole south into the same idea. Yet the advertisement tries to bring that "good ole" southern feel, of purity and how something as simple as swinging on the tire can bring enjoyment for hours. The advertisement while in the picture alone could be called misleading, the rest of the advertisement is very straight forward and gets the point across that this is something that the south knows and that it is something that you should try if you like sweet tea.

Misleading the public

It seems that the most of the time the misleading that is done by what is considered a major media outlet is what gets the most attention. While sitting and looking at the opportunities that were presented by the NY times when comparing the SARS outbreak to other deadly diseases it seems that it is meager in comparison. It is said that a picture can speak a thousand words. With the way this picture is set up and how our mind has been classically trained the larger something is the more important it should be to us. Yet when examining the information provided there is no such correlation. Each bit of information is not similar comparing how many are infected total to new infections over the past 2-3 months. This is not a statistical comparison instead it’s random facts of information presented in a misleading way. Malaria and Tuberculosis are the two main that draw your eyes to the page. Because of the emphasis put on them through color and size, and the fact that both have a greater bold placed on them. Yet there is no reason for that nor the text box size placed around them. The data could have better been viewed as a graph or at least similar references so that people can understand the reasoning behind the emphasis placed on some of the items but not all.

I feel like this kinetic typography from Lord of War done by servius76 is a better representation of Typography than the NYtimes.

Two Scientist were racing for all of man kind

It's hard to get credit for all the crazy work that is done, a race is made between you and others for the same prize. The work isn't done as a singlarity together and for the betterment of both, but instead is a race, a war between two to make the same things happen. The photo shows that where a single scientist has created an invention that involves the family to get the wife sewing even though the implied "end" taken as how the viewer can is slowly coming behind the family as they race for the finish

selling a flashdrive

Trying to market a flash drive seems at this day an age pointless, as we have seen in class, everyone has used one by now. When we first got them 5-6 years ago the we were impressed by those who had 256 kb, now were looking at the same size that had somewhere near 16-32 MB, so much more data since it would have taken 4 of our old ones to just reach the size capacity of 1 MB on our new ones. Now for marketing these to specific target groups.

To the incoming freshman.

Several classrooms have computers in them, and when having a flash drive means that you don’t have to carry your whole computer with you instead you carry a few ounces to make it class. Also everything is backed up incase of a hard rive failure.

To the Computer Science major

Why do you need to carry that heavy laptop when for a single project. Also the availability to have a flash drive that can be passed around your groups. A 1 gb flash drive is just big enough for your group, and you don't have to worry about did that email go through, it physically there.

The newspaper

With a new 1 gb hardrive you can have 114 minutes of your favorite music stored and ready to share. An hour of your favorite family videos only a small bit away. With haveing that much storage it is basically all you need and can keep your favorite keep sakes, all for a cheaps price that keeps your memories right there with you on your key chain

ethics of govermental issues

When given the chance to change things it sometimes takes the most effort to do what is correct, such as it has been said ethics is not doing what is right when people are looking but when no one is looking at all. Yet because of the situation where your superiors are marking your work as incorrect and not helpful it comes into play somewhere else. Such as how Aristotle describes that each person is responsible for their own ethics during each situation. The situation that you are placed in means that even though the work that you want to express is being repressed you need to go ahead and try to pick the important battles. The ideas that you are not portraying the situation correctly and believe is unethical because it is misleading needs to be brought up with your superiors. While the wording that you feel not portraying the people that is trying to be reached seems to be something more of the job you took rather than your ethics. Aristotle even though mentioning that you are in charge of your ethics, also says that ethics is the driving factor for laws, and the wording and choices of pictures are something that seems to be the law. There is more diversity in America yet people seem to be comforted by what they know. This is just the government doing it’s basic job, your pamphlet is nothing more than conveying information. The information that needs to be conveyed is more important that the presentation as long as it is visually pleasing and will draw the audience to read the information. When your job has been completed to what you consider the ethically correct decision and is precisely describing the situations of poverty, and social economic status of your study then you have provided the public with the information for them to make correct terms. While the pamphlet that your superiors want is not what is needed to provided the public with the information for them to make the correct decision, which will dictate the laws of the people which will drive the ethics of the situation.

the premier post

for English 314,
It seems that the best way to describe this blog, is workings of an English class located at Clemson. When introducing ourselves we did the obvious, name, then a scar. During the week of our 1st round of exams as freshman I was riding my mountain bike. While taking a turn I took a good fall taking out my left side, there are scares on my forehead, hand and knee all from the fall. At first I didn't think that it would be that big of a deal, even though blood was coming from pretty much everywhere. My then girlfriend now fiancee took me to the emergency room late that night. While there I had to figure out how to send a paper for one of my finals the next day and see if I can move one since I did have a my CES exam the next morning. The doctor told me that I had a concussion and should not go to sleep for several hour with constant supervision to make sure that I wouldn't go into a coma.
